into SF to visit my grandma - my grandmother hasn't been doing well. I drove into SF to visit her in the hospital. These are assorted pictures from that trip. |
 | |
1 It's a 90 mile drive from Sacramento to SF. I hit the toll plaza for the Bay Bridge right around sunset. Made for some nice shots, though they were through a dirty windshield. |
 | |
2 I was wondering whether I should obscure the license plate on the van in front of me. Are you supposed to do that? Can someone do bad things by knowing that van's license number? For those who can't see, it's California 6K79522. |
 | |
3 Once you pay your $2 toll you have to wait in lanes with traffic signals to help distribute the merge. Do they have that elsewhere? |
 | |
4 Who's that in my rearview mirror? |
 | |
5 An unaltered photo of me. It's kind of cool, blurry but in an artsy fartsy kind of way. Note: my tongue is still poking out through my lips, as it is as I write this caption. |
 | |
6 This is about the part of the span that collapsed during the 1989 earthquake. They are replacing this side of the bridge. |
 | |
7 Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island? Nawh, that's the place though where they filmed BattleBots. |
 | |
8 Bridge work. |
 | |
9 The SF skyline from the Bay Bridge at sunset. |
 | |
10 Highwire act. You can get a job walking up and down those. |
 | |
11 A random, solitary snapshot of the kitchen of my dad & stepmom's place in SF before we headed over to the hospital. |
 | |
12 Taking a break from watching Roman Holiday with my grandmother & dad to get something to eat/drink at the cable car diner across Geary Blvd. from the hospital. |
 | |
13 It was a little bit chilly outside, but there wasn't ice or snow on the ground, so for me that's good enough reason to eat outside when given the chance. |
 | |
14 One last random shot of the guests of this fine dining establishment. The corn dog was alright, the onion rings weren't that great. |
