apple (hill) dumpling gang - into the hills in search of apples & adventure

Having arrived on Apple Hill, we take time to eat snack shack lunches.
Alicia's looking for someplace else to get lunch.
That's my favorite table umbrella. It's to die for.
These are the only trees I know of with an alumninum can crusher attached to them.
There were a few "ranch dogs" and this one was particularly amusing to look at.
A shocking pink barn-like structure. And no cat on a hot tin roof.
Peeling pink paint.
Boxes and boxes of apples. Juicy Juice before the juicin'.
You know me and my cloud shots. Plus a gratuitous power line shot.
Alicia brought her fancy pants camera that has eye tracking and all these other features we couldn't figure out.
Lost in the grass.
At first, he saw me and ran back the other direction, then he got up the nerve and came full-tilt in my direction and sped right by me.
Here in the back 40 they have their homestead, I think, complete with satellite dish and abandoned cars & trucks.
A big pile o' something.
Did I mention I'm a big fan of yours?
After Apple Hill, we kept driving up the mountain on the way to Lake Tahoe and ran into snow. Snow! That previous Monday and Tuesday we were roasting in 90+ heat!
Look at the snow man!
There's the SeaMonkey, outstanding in it's field.
You know me and signs. Enough said.
Just a random car shot. Meant for the cover of Road & Track?
Over-the-shoulder pie shot.
With our new found apples, Alicia and I made pies. One with sweeter apples, one with tarter apples.
Alicia posing with the pies.
Matte posing with the pies.
The finished pies.
